Law Student Ministries invites you and your CLS student chapter to the 2009 National Law Student Convention (NLSC) at the Christian Legal Society’s National Conference, October 15-18, in San Diego, CA. Take a break from the rigors of law school and join the CLS family in a time of teaching, equipping, fellowship and relaxation. We would love to have at least one representative from your chapter attend the conference.  What better way to build momentum for your campus ministry and leave a lasting heritage for your group?
 
To help make it possilbe for you to attend, LSM has special STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS designed to offset your conference costs.  Any student incurring travel costs and staying in the conference hotel will receive a scholarship of $250.  Students who do not have both hotel and travel costs will be eligible for a student scholarship of $200. One student from each law school is eligible to receive one $295 leadership scholarship, and all 1Ls are eligible to receive a $295 award. 
 
These scholarships are limited: they are available on a “first come, first serve” basis, while funds are available. We anticipate that every student who registers and applies for a student scholarship on or before October 2, 2009 will be awarded a scholarship.  Please note that scholarships may only be awarded by LSM staff.  When you are prepared to register for the conference, call the LSM office at 703-642-1070, x3303.
 
In addition to monetary scholarships, LSM can assist you in raising funds to be spent on travel, lodging, and other expenses related to conference attendance.  We will help you contact local CLS attorneys and law school alumni, draft sample letters, and provide instructions for donations.  A listing of local CLS attorneys and alumni can be obtained from CLS website (www.clsnet.org) datatbase.  Find CLS members who are alumni of your school by request through the LSM office. The detailed procedure and sample form letters are available here on the website under Conference  Fundraising Assistance.  These forms may be reproduced locally and distributed to students who would like to attend the 2009 NLSC.
